So, I was planning on updating weekly about my progress, happy moments, and challenges. However, last week was a hard week. My weight was fluctuating all over, but mostly up. I was really trying to eat right (portion control with 3 small snacks a day), doing my morning workouts, & hitting the gym. I kept reminding myself that I have to be PATIENT. I am following the exercises, eating right, AND hitting the gym. I had to keep telling myself that if I just keep at it, eventually, the weight will come off. I am not sure if I was just majorly building muscle, retaining water, or other circumstances.
As of Monday morning, I was down 3lbs from where I started a week and a half ago. I was up about .6 lbs this morning, but that was a bad snack choice last night. So, I am now on the up and up....
Proud Moments:
Gym on Monday-Thursday for an hour every day but Tuesday.
I ate 10 RAW baby carrots before/with my lunch today. Carrots had NO DRESSING or anything on them.
I have eaten salad with my dinner almost every night this week.
I only ate 1 of Trav's way yummy ribs last week, when I really wanted more.
Challenges:
Last night, I ate a cookie at sister-in-laws; I had already had 2 Herschey kisses for my treat, earlier in the day.
Trav has also been doing this with me. However, I think he has been a little skeptical. Trav has been battling the same weight for several months (at least). Today, he text me that he had lost 2lbs this morning. I was so excited for him that he finally broke past where he was at. Trav also is very happy and excited!
And other new things....
Trav has been encouraging me for awhile to go back to school and get a master's to get more pay. Honestly, I don't want to go back to school, especially at nights after teaching all day. Needless to say, I have kept putting it off. At faculty meeting on Friday, two ladies came and talked about online (and face-face) classes that the district offers. Right then and there, I started mulling it over. This path sounded appealing because I can do it at my own pace, classes are 3 weeks long, and I don't have to plan for substitutes. You can only take 2 online courses at a time and almost all courses are .5 credit.
On Monday, I got online and looked at the pay schedule for the district. I only need 13.5 credit hours to get my next lane; with 10 more credits after that to get an additional lane. When I realized that, I got really excited and motivated. I am now signed up for 2 classes that start on Monday. My plan is to try and take 2 classes every 3 weeks, with actual face-face classes occasionally. This should put me getting a lane change in about 9 months to a year. So excited to start on this new adventure....
