Almost Done...Light at The End of The Tunnel...

A week or so ago, I was out doing visiting teaching. My partner mentioned that her husband is out of a job, due to the bad economy, etc. He has been doing some home remodel type jobs to earn some money. I asked if he did tile...and sure enough, he does. So, last Tuesday, he came over and looked at our shower, the finish work on our pony wall, and our stairs. He is going to finish all of that for us! They are going to NASCAR, so he will start the beginning of March!

We had some time to kill on President's Day, so Trav and I decided to go start checking out carpet. We looked at Home Depot, Lowes, RC Willey, Carpet Giant, etc. At Carpet Giant, teachers receive a 25% discount for being an acess member. The guy we dealt with also told us that if he lays the carpet, we would get like .50 cents a yard discounted. So, this appears to be our best deal! We are pretty sure we found the carpet we like, but are meeting up with him tomorrow to look at a few more samples. Sounds like once, the shower is tiled, we will do the carpet.

Funny side note....We have had a debate on what to do about the carpet. I wanted to basically replace all the main living areas because of the way the house is laid out. And I think our capet looks crappy. Trav just wanted to find something that matched the rest of the house, but only put carpet in the new and existing part of the downstairs living area. After he vacuumed the stairs a few times (in the last few weeks), he decided that we should do all the main living areas! Yeah!

The bedrooms, however....will just have to wait another year or so!
