YOU HAVE BEEN FLAMINGOED!!!

Flamingoed, you ask? I had never heard of it either until Monday night. It is a very cute & fun idea. It is a great way to do something nice and get to know your neighbors.

On Monday evening, Trav and I took Maizie on a walk over to Dennise's house. We visited once we got there and when it came time to go home it was late enough that Dennise just drove us. As we pulled into the driveway, I could see something on our lawn. Dennise knew exactly what it was...a FLAMINGO! As we got to the porch, there was a plate of no-bake cookies and this poem:

I'm a flamingo-a long-legged beauty.

I'm not just an ornament, I have a duty

This family home evening I nest in your yard

Accompanied by goodies, from a friend in the ward,

Enjoy your goodies; keep me safe by and by,

And then, come next Monday, please help me to fly.

If you and your family will make some new treat,

And take it ( and me!) to a whole different street.

And plant us both firmly in somebody's yard

(making sure the new owner also lives in the ward),

Then you'll be a hero....you'll be spreading some cheer,

Among young folks and old, in homes far and near.

This was such a fun surprise to come home to. It was also nice to realize that we are noticed, that we have friends, and that we are loved/liked; especially after the crappy stuff we have had going on.

Go ahead...I dare you to FLAMINGO someone! In fact....I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU!!
