Trip To California....

We spent 10 wonderfuld days in Sunny California at the end of June/beginning of July. We spent the first 5 days in Simi Valley with my aunt, uncle, & cousins. We loved staying in their guest house and letting them spoil us. We went and had ice cream at Carvel ice cream; it's a family thing. They had it in New York when mom was growing up, we ate at them in CA growing up, and then they disappeared. We got to watch my cousin, Josh, play hockey, which Travis especially loved. We saw my cousin, Brittany's, new place. My aut and uncle took us to Santa Barbara for a day. It was lots of fun wandering down town, checking out the pier and eating at the NY Pizza place. We went to downtown Hollywood to eat  at this awesome farmer's market. While we were there, we also checked out this cool shopping area, drove past the Chinese Theater and the stars on the sidewalk. They also took us to my new (ever since we went there during our last trip) barbecue place, Wood Ranch! Thanks guys-you spoiled us! We love you!

The last five days we spent with Terence, Ainsley, and Evelyn in San Diego. On our way down to San Diego, Travis requested that we stop and see the Richard Nixon Presidential Library; we have seen the Reagan library because it is right in Simi Valley, where we stay every time. It was very interesting!  We ate at 2 places featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives": Studio City Diner & Hodad's. Both places were lots of fun! Ainsley and Evelyn took us to Wild Animal Park. It was a lot of fun, but very hot and very up-hill. We also spent a day at SeaWorld; Travis was very excited about this. We also went to the Mormon Battalion Visitors Center, walked around Old Town, and spent some time at the beach. However, our beach days were overcast and cold; not like I expected. All in all, it was a great trip! Hard to believe that by the time we got home, June was done, and July was half over. I guess that's what happens, when church camps eat up all of June! Oh well, lots of fun!
